Eligibility Criteria

Age Limit

For JRF (Junior Research Fellowship): The maximum age limit is 31 years; additional age relaxation is available for reserved categories as per UGC NET June 2026 examination guidelines. For Assistant Professor Eligibility and Ph.D. Admission: There is no upper age limit prescribed.

Qualification

  • Candidates must have passed or must be appearing in a Master’s degree in the relevant subject from a recognised university with a minimum of 55% marks (50% for SC/ST/PwD/OBC-NCL candidates – refer official guidelines).
  • Additionally, candidates holding a 4-year Bachelor’s degree with the requisite percentage are also eligible to apply.
  • Furthermore, candidates appearing in their final year of the qualifying Master’s degree examination may apply provisionally, subject to completion of the degree before the prescribed deadline.
